Our Mission
At the heart of the Social Therapy Project, guided by the inspiring vision of Valencia Jones, we're all about knitting communities closer together by tearing down the barriers to mental health care. We are committed to assisting everyone, focusing on supporting those facing financial or societal challenges in accessing help. Our approach to mental health isn't just about treating symptoms; it's about understanding the whole story—whether it's anxiety, depression, the aftermath of domestic violence, the shadows of human trafficking, or the scars of child abuse. We're on a mission to spark real change, lighting the way with advocacy, raising voices for awareness, and rolling up our sleeves to dive into solutions. The Social Therapy Project is like a big, open table where everyone's invited to sit down, share their stories, and find the support and resources they need, ensuring nobody has to walk their path alone.
What Sets Us Apart
Well, we see the big picture. Unlike other organizations that might focus on just one piece of the puzzle—hunger, homelessness, or spiritual emptiness—we're here to embrace every part of what makes us human. Our work is rooted in deep faith and the simple, powerful idea of loving our neighbors wholeheartedly. We're convinced that to lift each other truly, we must simultaneously care for the mind, body, and spirit. Whether we're handing out blankets and coats, sharing a meal, or offering a prayer for someone who's lost the words to pray, we aim to be there fully. Our counseling, financial guidance, and trauma support come with little or no cost, highlighting our unwavering belief in access and compassion. We see beyond the struggles, focusing on each person's incredible potential to rise above. Inspired by the thought that "As a Man Thinketh, so is he," we're all about nurturing the whole person, ensuring that no need goes unnoticed as we work together to weave stronger, more resilient communities.
